The lads and I are wrestling with this same question. I'll have a digital camera with me, and we are pondering the CD route – but how to upload? What are your suggestions and experiences?

Ant,
Do you mean where they can be uploaded to online until they are going to be posted or the physical how to upload from the camera?

It’s more getting the photos from the camera/whatever storage medium it uses, and onto a computer where I can then put the photos online.

Do you already have the camera? I’m assuming yes. What is the software you have to use?

Oh, sorry – we don’t have the camera yet. Sean’s in Portland today, and he’s going to be checking out some different tech stuff, including looking over some cameras.

Is there one you’d recommend?

What sort of price range, memory are you looking for?

Price range: let’s try under $500…

Memory: not sure. My needs would be:
– high-res shots (stock for BootsnAll that we can use whenever we need high-rez images)
– low-res shots (mainly for posting on Eurail Blog)
– storage medium that I can use to upload to blog/web from cybercafes, so (if possible) there’s no software installation required
– being able to store lots of images on whatever medium, as I may be shooting loads every day, but only uploading every week or two

Does that help?

You can get several memory cards so you are sure not to run out of space. It’s literally like digital film.
