Perfect in Piran

Two thumbs up to this little slice of paradise along the Adriatic. If you visit Slovenia, do not miss this quaint colorful seaside village. Accommodations are hard to come by in the high season, though, so book a room way in advance. I spent two nights at the Val Hostel, an excellent, well-run, centrally-located hostel that includes a decent breakfast (even some hot food), one computer terminal for free internet access (plus free wireless), AND you can do your laundry for free in their high-quality front-loader, then feel all Mediterranean when you hang it to dry in the warm sun on their rooftop terrace. There is also a small kitchen with fridge.
If you can’t get a room at Val, use one of the two booking agencies in town to find a place. Prices will be slightly higher, but that is your best bet. Any booking hassles you incur should hopefully be well worth your time…I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying a day or two here, especially at this time of year. Simply perfect.
