My aunt and I have been on a quick jaunt through the southern provinces of Campania, Basilicata and Puglia. We spent two days in the town where many of my ancestors were born, and are now in Matera, a unique and unbelievable rock-hewn city about half-way between Salerno and Bari (closer to Bari.)

I was pleasantly suprised to learn about this internet cafe, located on the Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the only one in town. We found out about it from a member of a film crew which is currently filming scenes from a new movie called Nativity here in Matera.

Tonight we take the ferry from Bari to Dubrovnik, so I’ll have an update from Croatia in a day or so…Ciao!
