Getting from Portugal to Spain

See the real Europe with Rail Europe

It is actually easier to do this trip by bus than by train, especially when travelling from the Algarve to Andalucia region in Spain. I took an Eva bus from Faro to Huelva, then a Damas bus from Huelva to Aracena where I am currently staying. The first bus was 7,50€ and the second was 8,50€ - def a cheap and easy option, just make sure you change your watch since it is one hour later in Spain and when waiting to catch a bus, this can cause problems if you are still on Portuguese time, as almost happened to me!

Where did you buy those bus tickets? Did you have to buy them in advance, or just show up at the station when you wanted to travel?

I bought the tickets right at the main bus stations for both those towns, and I did not have to get them in advance, although I imagine in high season, it makes sense to buy them ahead of time, a few days before. The bus from Faro to Huelva was enroute to Seville and only had about 5 people on it...will be very different in summer.
