Took the Wrong Train

See the real Europe with Rail Europe

I´m sure this won´t be the first time this happens...I wound up in Olaho instead of Loule (sorry, no time for the symbols above the letters...) but an angel named Alexandra, and her sweet Portuguese parents, came to my rescue to help me make a phone call to my pal Laura waiting for me at the train station that I was not going to show up at...it all worked out in the end, but was an eventful, adventurous happening that made me shed my first tears of the trip. Pretty soon after picking me up an hour later, Laura had me laughing lots...it was great we could laugh about it. She is another angel I´ve met here in Portugal. Well, it was a memorable way to mark my one week in Europe date! Let´s see how long before I goof up again...off to Spain today!

How about sitting on a train waiting and waiting for it to leave only to realize that the train DID leave but you were sitting in the wrong cars!
I did that maybe even more than once while living in Italy.
Always make sure the car you are sitting in will be going with the rest.
love you

How did you like Faro? I spent a few days there in 2003 and met up with a cool Portugese soldier who drove me to the airport after I overslept! I flew out of there only because that's where RyanAir had a stop :)

Aunt C -- I have heard about those trains. It will be just my luck that it happens to me...I've had some more close calls today, but with the bus, will fill you all in soon.

Couut -- hey! no portuguese soldier, but i liked Faro fairly well, it is not as quaint as a place like Tavria, but it was nice to walk around the historic district. I liked Lagos alot, and got up into the mountains of Monchique too.
