Public Transport around Lisbon

Yesterday I used Lisbonīs regional train networkto travel to Sintra, and today I used the same line to get to Belem. The trains on these lines run every 15-20 minutes from Cais do Sodre, which is on the Metro system, another great way to get around the city. Iīve used it several times in the past few days and have found it to be a great time saver - clean, efficent and colorfully decorated stations.

I also took the bus today, line 28 along the Tagus River, so that I could visit the Oriente train station where I will depart tomorrow for Faro in southern Portugal. I wanted to get comfortable with the station and book my reservation (a mandatory 4 euros) in advance, since I will be carrying my heary pack tomorrow and really donīt want to have to do much at all...I wonīt be able to! (My pack is def too heavy, but warmer weather will be here soon...)

It was a really good thing I went to the station today, since the CP officials had some concerns with my Eurail Pass that needed to be verified. No worries, it is all taken care of and Iīm good to go, but I def suggest doing it the day before whenever possible fellow Eurailers, so you can get familiar with the station, determine the track and get reservations squared away.
