Vatican

I went to the Vatican today, and as an aetheist, it is quite weird. However, I highly recommend it. I'm not a big fan of the pope, but still, to see all the paintings, all the history, it is like nowhere else. I'm not going back to the Vatican, but I recommend a stopover if you happen to be in Rome.

I also had to wear a long skirt and a tshirt to the Vatican, due to religious cover-up rules. I'm not a big fan of it, as it was quite hot today.

Otherwise, I like Rome. The food is good, the people are nice, and it's a big city like New York. I feel at home. Too bad I have to leave Friday morning for a flight to Athens.

I read Cheri's comments about the dress code for the vatican. Did you specifically have to wear a long skirt or, are pants acceptable for ladies as well. I read on a site for vatican tours that ladies had to cover their shoulders and their knees. It did not specifically say that the ladies had to wear skirt or dresses just keep their knees covered. Do you know? I am going in October. Thanks.
