40-year-old couple on the trip of their lives
From Andrea: "we are doing the 'if we dont do it now we will never do it' trip of our lives. my travelling companion and i are nearly 40 and both are very excited about this trip.
"Both of us have travelled before but nothing as long as this one, as well planned or as expensive. we will save money by buying a world ticket that includes south america and leave after university exams in Oct 2003.
"after climbing machu pichu we will head off to europe, see the main sites and meet up with people we have met in australia when they were travelling here. then it off to ireland and england to trace our respective family heritage. it will be cold there in nov but that will be part of the challenge and i'm sure there are a few irish pubs with warm open fires. we will be fine."

Yeah, isn't that great? And few things like a cold wet Irish day... that you watch from the pub window, while sitting by the fire and knocking back a coupla Guinness. That South America leg ought to be quite interesting too...
