So there’s this guy on the side of the road playing the violin. He’s pretty avant-guard (yeah- I misspelled that. Whatever). So anyhow, I found myself drawn to him, and without any communication but a nod and a glance I found myself reading poetry with him. So the total stranger is playing the violin. I’m reciting poetry. He’s traveling through and looking for some change for a meal and a hostel (I learn later) and together we create a scene that *actually draws a crowd* (can you believe it?) He’s made a doller and a half in the hour he’d been there, and once I joined him we made about twenty bucks. He got his room and his meal no problem. Boy did that ever feel good.
Sim July 15, 2003 at 11:35 pm: I’m heading to Europe in August to play as much as possible. I’ve only busked in the UK up to now so would be grateful for any advice. I’m a jazz sax player. If anyone knows of any happening scenes I’d love to hear about it.
